Aegon Asset Management ESG Engagement Workflow Optimization

This document is a case study detailing the challenges and solutions faced by Aegon Asset Management in optimizing their ESG engagement workflow. The Responsible Investment (RI) team encountered difficulties due to disparate methodologies and a lack of transparency between teams in different regions. To address these issues, Aegon sought a unified platform that could enhance collaboration and streamline their research processes while retaining historical data continuity. The solution involved the adoption of FactSet's Internal Research Notes (IRN), which facilitated a cohesive workflow and improved communication between the Netherlands and UK offices. The implementation of IRN allowed for the migration of over 6,500 historical research notes, ensuring no continuity breaks and enabling the RI team to effectively track ESG engagements. The results included increased efficiency, better reporting capabilities, and enhanced decision-making across the investment process, ultimately leading to a more organized and effective approach to ESG engagement.
