Shop Floor Business Intelligence Solution Case Study

This case study details the implementation of a business intelligence solution for a pet nutrition manufacturer facing challenges with their existing data reporting system. The original system, built in the 1990s, utilized over 400 ASP pages and lacked real-time reporting capabilities, which hindered data analysis for various stakeholders. The process began with extensive interviews to understand the business and technical requirements, leading to the identification of gaps in the existing system. The solution involved the integration of Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI Premium to create a centralized reporting solution. This new system allowed for customizable reports, responsive web interfaces for live and historical data, and reduced the number of reports from over 400 to just 20.
