This case study presents the implementation of Fluitec's ESP system at a Waste-to-Energy plant in Germany. The initial problem involved servo valves on a turbine experiencing sticking issues and contamination due to varnish deposits. Following a manual cleaning, oil analysis revealed a significant increase in varnish contamination and a decline in antioxidants. To address these issues, the ESP system was installed three months prior to an oil change, resulting in a decrease in the varnish contamination levels, indicated by a drop in MPC from 58 to 11. After the oil change, the ESP continued to operate effectively, maintaining MPC values between 5 and 6 for the subsequent three years. The installation led to improved oil cleanliness, restored ISO levels, reduced temperatures, and enhanced efficiency across additional turbines with similar issues. The estimated return on investment for the solution was reported at 800%.
