This case study details the migration process undertaken by Banca Transilvania following its acquisition of Bancpost, a medium-sized bank in Romania. The objective was to transfer customer content, including customer IDs, signature specimens, and contracts, from five different Bancpost systems to OpenText Documentum, the centralized ECM system utilized by Banca Transilvania. The migration involved over seven million records and six terabytes of data. To minimize costs and avoid downtime, an automated migration approach was preferred. Partnering with PGI Romania, Banca Transilvania selected migration-center software, which enabled efficient, automated migration without disrupting business operations. The migration was successfully completed in under six months, ensuring data integrity through an auditable process. Following the migration, the old Bancpost systems were shut down, marking a significant achievement in ECM consolidation post-merger.
