This case study details the implementation of the Forescout Platform within a large health system in the United States, which operates 10 hospitals. The primary objective of the project was to automate network access control (NAC) and improve asset compliance while reducing risk exposure. The health system faced challenges due to the high volume of clinicians, patients, and devices across its campuses, leading to a lack of visibility into network compliance. By integrating Forescout with existing security tools, the organization enhanced its security posture and compliance with various mandates. The deployment began in late 2021 and included creating policies for device registration, remediation, and suspension. The results included a 50% improvement in compliance with security policies, a significant reduction in risk exposure, and the saving of 5-10 labor hours weekly through automation. The case study also highlights the improved executive visibility into compliance posture and potential risks, which was previously lacking.
