Cloud Migration and Identity Access Management

This technical report presents findings from a study commissioned by Ping Identity and ForgeRock, focusing on the migration of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to the cloud. The report indicates that a significant majority of IAM decision-makers recognize the necessity of migrating their IAM technologies to the cloud, with 86% agreeing it is essential for achieving business goals. However, it also highlights the challenges faced during this migration, including infrastructural complexities and organizational silos that hinder progress. The report details the motivations behind cloud migration, such as improved support for a hybrid workforce and enhanced security measures, particularly in relation to Zero Trust frameworks. Additionally, it discusses the importance of AI/ML investment in optimizing cloud-based IAM solutions and the need for integration across various platforms to ensure operational agility and efficiency.
