This case study details the integration of IT and OT security for Best Value Chem (BVC), a global specialty chemicals manufacturer. BVC operates multiple manufacturing plants and R&D centers, serving customers in over 30 countries. The organization recognized the need for a unified approach to IT and OT operations due to the increasing complexity of its digital ecosystem. The existing fragmented infrastructure limited visibility and governance, prompting BVC to select the Fortinet Security Fabric as a modernization strategy. The deployment of FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and other Fortinet solutions enabled centralized management, improved operational resilience, and enhanced security across both IT and OT environments. This integration led to reduced response times to network events, improved reliability, and a significant decrease in downtime. BVC's IT team, now streamlined to three administrators, effectively manages the entire infrastructure with greater efficiency. The case study outlines the benefits of this transformation and future plans for further security enhancements.
