This case study details the digital transformation undertaken by Food Delivery Brands Group (FDB) to modernize its IT and operational technology (OT) networking and security. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Madrid, FDB operates over 1,800 outlets internationally. The company initiated a transition to a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) to enhance communication efficiency and reduce costs. The project involved deploying Fortinet's Secure SD-Branch solution, which includes FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitches, and FortiAPs. The integration of these technologies improved network performance and security, resulting in a significant reduction in WAN operating costs and overall administration expenses. Additionally, FDB implemented FortiWeb to protect its web services from cyber threats, achieving a notable decrease in attack incidents. The case study also outlines the segmentation of production lines for enhanced cybersecurity and the deployment of FortiSIEM for real-time monitoring and incident response, ultimately improving operational efficiency and security across the organization.
