This case study details Cleartrace's transition from a custom-built authentication system to the Frontegg identity management platform. Initially, Cleartrace developed a simple authentication tool that sufficed for their early operations. However, as the company expanded and onboarded larger clients, the limitations of this homegrown solution became apparent, particularly for non-technical staff who struggled with user management. The process of adding users became a bottleneck, requiring engineering support and causing delays. Recognizing the need for enhanced identity management capabilities, Cleartrace evaluated the option to either build a new solution or adopt an existing one. Ultimately, they chose Frontegg, which allowed for a rapid migration and provided advanced features such as single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. The implementation of Frontegg not only streamlined user management but also empowered the customer success team to directly manage client needs without relying on engineering resources, significantly improving operational efficiency.
