This case study outlines the challenges and solutions faced by Panasonic in upgrading their merchandise management system at their Neumunster factory. The factory, which operates on a three-shift basis, required a new system that could handle increased capacity without any downtime. The existing servers had reached their limits, necessitating a swift response to market needs. Panasonic selected Glovia International, a Fujitsu company, to provide the new solution. The chosen servers were from the Primepower series, which operate under the Solaris Operating Environment. This new setup ensures high availability through clustering, allowing for better load distribution and enhanced backup capabilities. The case study details how the implementation of the Primepower servers not only met the immediate needs of the factory but also improved overall operational efficiency.
