This case study details the application of Mission Critical Information Management (MCIM) to address systemic battery failures experienced by a client. The client faced challenges due to poor data collection and managing a large portfolio of over 400 battery strings, which hindered their ability to diagnose the issue. MCIM, utilized in conjunction with Tableau for real-time data visualizations, identified data gaps and facilitated a program to update records efficiently. The integration of data allowed the client to pinpoint problems, including suppliers providing older batteries and installation errors. As a result, the client made informed decisions regarding battery suppliers, revised their commissioning policy, and improved forecasting for capital planning budgets. The case study illustrates how MCIM has been effectively implemented across various sectors, including technology and healthcare, demonstrating its capability to enhance operational efficiency and data management.
