This case study examines the implementation of the CLiP Current Limiting Protector by Pedra Agroindustrial S/A, a Brazilian renewable energy company. The company, which has been operational since 1931, transitioned to the renewable energy sector by leveraging waste from sugarcane production to generate electricity. The study details the challenges faced during the planning of two new power plants, particularly concerning the interconnection of the plants and the need for equipment capable of handling high fault currents. Three potential solutions were considered: upgrading existing equipment, utilizing a current limiting reactor (CLR), or implementing the CLiP current limiting protector.
