Summary
This document is a project profile detailing the waterproofing and roofing upgrade at the Paradise Point Townhomes, also known as the Royal Harbour Yacht Club, located in Palmetto Bay, Florida. The project aimed to address significant water intrusion issues that had persisted since 2017. The SJJS Roofing Contractors Corps, in collaboration with GAF, implemented a multi-stage waterproofing system, including the GAF BarrierGuard System and GAF Surface Seal SB. The challenges faced included limited access to the rooftop, debris management, and ensuring structural integrity while enhancing drainage. The project involved removing existing failed systems and preparing the structural deck for a new roofing solution. The GAF systems applied provided a durable waterproofing solution and met Miami-Dade standards. The completion date for the project is July 2024, and it has been recognized as the 2024 GAF Coatings Project of the Year.
