This case study details the supply chain optimization efforts undertaken by ACR, previously known as AmerCareRoyal, in collaboration with GAINS. The objective was to address challenges arising from mergers and acquisitions that complicated their supply network, leading to issues such as low fill rates, stockouts, and increased operational expenses. ACR implemented GAINS' integrated planning and design tools, which allowed them to utilize 'what-if' scenarios to enhance order flows and replenishment schedules. The results included a significant increase in fill rates to 98%, a 25% reduction in inventory, and a decrease in outbound freight and warehouse expenses by 27%. The study outlines the incremental approach taken by ACR, emphasizing the importance of maintaining service levels while transitioning to a new network design. ACR's partnership with GAINS was driven by the need for advanced forecasting, inventory optimization, and strategic planning, ultimately improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
