Alabama-Coushatta Tribe Emergency Notification System Case Study

This case study outlines the implementation of the Genasys ACOUSTICS voice and tone speaker system by the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas to enhance public safety on their reservation. The reservation, located near the Big Thicket National Preserve, is home to nearly 700 permanent residents and attracts numerous tourists. The Tribal Council approved the installation of the ACOUSTICS system to improve mass notification capabilities, particularly in light of the area's vulnerability to severe weather events such as tornadoes, flooding, and hurricanes. The ACOUSTICS system integrates with the Deep East Texas Council of Governments' Genasys Protect mass notification system, which serves multiple agencies across 11 counties. This integration allows for real-time messaging and precise notifications to ensure the safety of tribal members and visitors. The system is designed to provide clear warnings and alerts, enhancing communication during emergencies and ensuring that critical information is effectively disseminated throughout the community.
