This case study examines the performance of the Genasys Protect ACOUSTICS system compared to traditional siren-only emergency warning installations in Menlo Park, California. Following the 2017 North Bay fires, local officials recognized the need for effective audible warnings to alert residents of impending emergencies such as wildfires and flooding. The case study details a side-by-side test conducted by Atherton and Menlo Park officials, which demonstrated that the Genasys system significantly outperformed the older siren system. The Genasys Protect platform offers a comprehensive solution that includes multi-channel mass notifications, emergency response acceleration, and clear voice messaging capabilities. The system is designed to function effectively even during power outages and communication failures, addressing critical gaps in emergency response. The findings underscore the importance of advanced warning systems in enhancing public safety and ensuring timely communication during emergencies.
