This case study details the modernization of document archiving infrastructure for a global pharmaceutical company. The client aimed to reduce costs, eliminate system redundancy, and meet evolving regulatory requirements. The existing architecture was outdated, operating across two separate legacy platforms, which posed significant challenges. The CARA Platform was selected for its cloud-native architecture and regulatory compliance capabilities. Key drivers for this choice included the consolidation of multiple legacy systems into a single platform, which simplified operations and reduced costs. The project required addressing critical GxP and regulatory requirements, including comprehensive system decommissioning support and selective archiving functionality. The implementation involved a rigorous methodology with discovery, design, development, verification, and production phases, ensuring compliance with GxP environments. The results included a unified, modern archive solution that eliminated redundancy, provided dynamic scalability, and ensured regulatory confidence through automated retention enforcement and comprehensive audit capabilities.
