This case study details Jemena's initiative to enhance security across its critical infrastructure sites in Australia using the Genetec Security Center platform. Jemena, a major provider of gas and electricity, faced challenges due to aging security systems and new regulatory requirements under the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act. The organization sought a consolidated security solution that would not only meet compliance standards but also improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The implementation of the Genetec Security Center allowed for remote monitoring and management of nearly 50 sites, integrating various security technologies including video surveillance, intercom systems, and automatic license plate recognition. The transition has enabled Jemena to conduct virtual patrols, minimizing the need for on-site personnel and thereby reducing carbon emissions. The partnership with Wilson Security has been pivotal in this upgrade, ensuring that Jemena can effectively manage security risks while maintaining compliance with evolving regulations.
