This case study details the Thames Valley CCTV Partnership, which aims to enhance sustainable CCTV provision for police and local authorities in the Thames Valley region. The partnership was formed between Genetec™ and Hanwha Vision to address the challenges of aging CCTV systems and budget constraints faced by local councils. The initiative seeks to centralize control of public space CCTV, transferring ownership from local authorities to Thames Valley Police control rooms. The study outlines the implementation of Genetec Security Center and AI-enabled cameras from Hanwha Vision, which improve surveillance quality and operational efficiency. The first phase involved modernizing a control room in Milton Keynes, while future phases will integrate additional control rooms. The partnership has led to significant cost savings and improved access to video evidence for police operations. The case study highlights the collaborative efforts and technological advancements that contribute to enhanced public safety in the region.
