Facies-Control Geostatistical Inversion Method Application

This document is a technical report that outlines the application of a facies-control geostatistical inversion method based on strata structure analysis in the Bohai Bay region. The report details the limitations of traditional methods such as seismic attributes and seismic inversion during the development phase of reservoir prediction, particularly due to resolution issues. It describes the geological context of the Neogene layers, which consist of fluvial facies reservoirs with thin shaley interbeds. The report emphasizes the spatial variability of these interbeds and presents a solution that involves using GeoSoftware technology for 1D facies-control statistical analysis on sedimentary cycles and well logs. The method was applied to 24 exploration and development wells, resulting in improved production efficiency and reduced drilling risk. The report concludes that this approach effectively delineates thin shaly interbeds in complex sedimentary environments, demonstrating its utility in areas with incomplete prior information.
