The 2023 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey Report presents findings on the perceptions and realities of hybrid cloud security among IT and security leaders. The report reveals a significant gap between the confidence of organizations in their security measures and the actual security of their hybrid cloud infrastructures. Despite 94 percent of respondents claiming complete visibility into their security tools, 90 percent reported experiencing a data breach in the past 18 months. The survey highlights critical visibility gaps, particularly concerning encrypted traffic and blind spots. It also discusses the importance of deep observability in enhancing security and compliance, as well as the necessity for improved collaboration among IT departments. The methodology involved online interviews with 1,020 professionals across six global markets, ensuring anonymity. Key learnings indicate that while confidence in security is high, many breaches go undetected, underscoring the need for a more proactive approach to hybrid cloud security management.
