This case study details the challenges faced by a UK industrial manufacturing customer of Dura Pump regarding their outdated washdown system. The previous system experienced constant failures, necessitating frequent repairs, and struggled to maintain the required water temperature due to inadequate mixing of hot and cold water. Dura Pump addressed these issues by supplying three high-efficiency Grundfos CRNE high-speed pumps and implementing a comprehensive solution that included a new stainless-steel tank with a steam heater and a redesigned ring main for efficient water delivery. The outcome of this intervention resulted in a reliable washdown system that significantly reduced power consumption by 13 kW/hour and transitioned from a 70 bar to a 40 bar system, enhancing overall efficiency. Maintenance requirements were also reduced from weekly repairs to an annual inspection, demonstrating the long-term benefits of the solution provided. This case study illustrates the effectiveness of Dura Pump's approach in delivering energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions for industrial applications.
