This case study details the implementation of Hexagon software by E-Comm, which provides communication services to emergency responders in southwest British Columbia, Canada. E-Comm, which handles over 1 million 911 calls annually, faced challenges due to an outdated computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system amid increasing demand from new regional agencies. The study outlines how E-Comm sought a solution that would support its growth and improve dispatch capabilities. After evaluating options, E-Comm selected Hexagon for its mobile and web flexibility, scalability, and ability to integrate with third-party systems. The new CAD solution enhances public safety communications, reduces response times, and improves the quality of information available to responders. The case study also highlights the flexibility of the Hexagon system, which allows for seamless integration of dispatch services for new agencies, ensuring continuity and efficiency in emergency response operations.
