This case study presents the cybersecurity infrastructure revitalization at the Dolnośląskie Centrum Rehabilitacji i Ortopedii (DCRO), located in Southwest Poland. The focus of the study is on the implementation of Hillstone's next generation firewalls (NGFW), breach detection system (BDS), and network intrusion prevention system (NIPS) to enhance the security of critical patient data and medical infrastructure. The existing security framework was outdated, primarily protecting the perimeter, which prompted the DCRO IT team to seek comprehensive solutions to address internal and external threats. The selected Hillstone solutions offer advanced threat detection and protection capabilities while ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations. The integration of these systems has enabled the DCRO to enhance visibility, monitoring, and analysis of potential threats across its network. As a result, the IT team successfully identified and addressed vulnerabilities, securing patient records and improving operational efficiency. Overall, the case study outlines the impact of modern cybersecurity measures on safeguarding sensitive information.
