Water Supply Engineering Firm Optimizes Workflows

This case study outlines how a water supply engineering firm improved its construction workflows using FARO Sphere® XG. The firm aimed to enhance data sharing with clients and eliminate disorganized local server storage. The primary challenge was dealing with outdated and scattered project data. To address this, the firm set three objectives: improve collaboration with visualization teams, obtain detailed site photos to reduce site visit frequency, and implement a unified system for archiving project documentation. The solution involved piloting 360° photos on two projects, which provided reliable progress records and enhanced client monitoring through virtual site access. The results included improved collaboration, reduced documentation time, and user-friendly software that required little training for enterprise-wide adoption. The platform enabled efficient design coordination and reliable as-built conditions throughout the facility's lifecycle, ultimately fostering a culture of collaboration both internally and externally.
