This research article presents a comparative evaluation of the performance of two automated complete blood count analysers: Sysmex XN 3000 and Horiba Yumizen H2500. The study involved processing a total of 296 EDTA anti-coagulated blood samples in both analysers within four hours of collection. Various haematological parameters, including white blood cell count, red blood cell count, erythrocyte indices, differential leukocyte count, platelet count, and reticulocyte count, were compared. The results indicated a strong correlation between the two analysers for most parameters, with correlation coefficients exceeding 0.9 for several key metrics. However, a moderate correlation was noted for the red cell distribution width, and the basophil count showed poor correlation. The findings suggest that while the two analysers generally produce comparable results, certain parameters may exhibit variability, which could impact clinical decision-making. The study underscores the importance of ensuring interchangeability of different analysers in laboratory settings.
