Robotic Order Fulfillment Implementation Case Study

This case study details the implementation of a robotic order fulfillment solution by Hy-Tek for Ariat International, a company in the retail and eCommerce sector. The challenge arose from the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated eCommerce growth and necessitated a shift in fulfillment processes due to changing order profiles. The existing facility was primarily designed for retail store fulfillment and required an upgrade to accommodate a more dynamic order fulfillment system. The solution involved the deployment of the Exotec Skypod System, which features 73,500 inventory locations and enables efficient processing of both large retail batches and smaller eCommerce orders. The new system allows for flexible and scalable operations, significantly increasing picking rates and supporting various order profiles. Since the installation, Ariat has planned further expansions to enhance its fulfillment capabilities, demonstrating the effectiveness of the implemented solution in adapting to evolving market demands.
