This document is a case study detailing the implementation of granular access controls within a construction firm's legal dispute involving attorneys, clients, and experts. The firm faced challenges regarding privileged access and privacy, necessitating a clear distinction between the documents accessible to clients and experts. The defense attorney, Smith Currie & Hancock, identified that clients had access to 66,000 documents, while experts were limited to 7,800 documents. Utilizing iCONECT, the litigation support team established Custom Views to manage document access effectively. This system ensured that only non-privileged documents were accessible to clients and experts, while attorneys retained full access to all documents. The case study emphasizes the importance of maintaining privacy while facilitating collaboration, highlighting how the implementation of these access controls improved efficiency and protected privileged information. The successful collaboration among all parties demonstrates the effectiveness of tailored access solutions in legal contexts.
