This case study outlines the implementation of the IDBS Process Information Management System (PIMS) by a top five global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). The document describes the challenges faced by the CDMO, including reliance on disparate spreadsheets and email communication for project data, which hindered effective decision-making and regulatory compliance. The CDMO sought a unified system to standardize processes across multiple project sites while accommodating various manufacturing stages. The solution chosen was the cloud-based IDBS PIMS, which improved data visibility, reduced reliance on IT support, and facilitated compliance with regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11. Following the implementation, the CDMO experienced significant benefits, including enhanced batch data monitoring, improved client information sharing, and increased efficiency in continued process verification reporting. The case study details the expected time savings and operational improvements resulting from the use of PIMS, which are projected to save nearly 13,000 hours annually across teams.
