This document is a case study detailing the efforts of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to enhance sexual health data collection and improve patient care. The Trust, which provides sexual health services across Lancashire and South Cumbria, identified a challenge in ensuring data integrity and consistency following a merger. The consolidation of multiple Lilie databases was initiated to address this issue, allowing for more accurate reporting and streamlined operations. The Idox team facilitated this transition, implementing a flexible Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system that captures essential patient data and reduces administrative burdens. The new system enables the Trust to customize reports aligned with internal key performance indicators (KPIs) and track important health trends. The case study highlights the positive outcomes of this consolidation, including improved data integrity, enhanced reporting capabilities, and a higher quality of service for patients, ultimately meeting statutory requirements more effectively.
