Integration of EMS and Fire Operations in Pinellas County

This technical report discusses the integration of emergency medical services (EMS) and fire operations in Pinellas County, Florida, particularly during the challenging 2024 hurricane season. The report outlines the complexities faced by 18 independent fire agencies and a private transport provider operating under a single medical director. It highlights the urgent need for a unified, cloud-based platform to improve response efficiency and data sharing. The approach included the deployment of the ImageTrend Platform, which involved structured phases for implementation, training, and support. Key features such as standardized electronic patient care reporting (ePCR), automated credentialing, and real-time data analytics were implemented. The results showed significant improvements in response times, reduced administrative workloads, and enhanced patient care through accurate data transfer.
