Operational Improvement Analysis for KAZ Minerals

This technical report details the operational improvements implemented at KAZ Minerals' Aktogay mine site following a comprehensive analysis of simulator data conducted in August 2022. The analysis identified significant operating errors affecting fuel efficiency in the Cat® 793 Haul Truck fleet. In response, Immersive Technologies developed targeted scenarios to mitigate these errors and embedded a support resource for two training rounds over three months. The results of these interventions were substantial, with reported reductions of 31% in abusive shifts, 75.7% in engine overspeed errors, 45.4% in gear select errors, and 36% in fuel efficiency errors. The report also lists the advanced equipment and services utilized, including the IM360-B Advanced Equipment Simulator and Managed Services, which contributed to these improvements. The findings underscore the effectiveness of the training and support provided in enhancing operational performance at the mine site.
