Economic Impact Assessment of US Independent Operators

This document is a technical report that assesses the economic impact of upstream oil and gas operations in the United States, focusing on independent operators. The report outlines the contributions of onshore and offshore operations to the US gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024, with onshore operations contributing $563 billion, representing approximately 2% of the total GDP, and supporting 3.6 million jobs with a labor income of $316 billion. It details that independent operators accounted for about 87% of the economic impacts in the onshore sector. Offshore operations contributed an additional $63 billion to the GDP and supported 330,000 jobs, with independent operators making up 39% of the GDP contribution.
