This case study details the implementation of mobile workflows at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to enhance nursing efficiency and patient care. The objective was to improve access to electronic patient records while minimizing login times and streamlining medication administration processes. The challenges included the need for nursing staff to enter complex passwords frequently while using mobile devices, which could lead to delays and increased stress. The solution involved deploying Imprivata Enterprise Access Management and Imprivata Mobile Device Access, allowing for simplified badge tap logins across devices. Results indicated significant time savings, with nurses filing flowsheet data 50 minutes sooner on mobile devices compared to desktops. Additionally, the adoption of mobile workflows led to higher compliance rates in barcode medication administration and improved efficiency in patient care tasks. The integration of mobile technology has transformed nursing practices, enabling staff to work more closely with patients and manage their tasks more effectively.
