This case study details the Chemical Management Services (CMS) provided by Incora for a major aircraft OEM, focusing on the business challenge of excessive waste from unused sealants. The account manager identified that a critical sealant was often discarded, leading to significant costs associated with both the unused product and its hazardous waste disposal. To address this issue, Incora aimed to enhance sealant usage efficiency and minimize waste. The solutions included sourcing alternative sealants that met necessary specifications and installing chemicals storage cabinets at points of use. A joint project with the customer's Six Sigma leader facilitated a root cause analysis to identify production logistics contributing to the waste. As a result of these initiatives, the customer achieved an annual cost savings of $500,000 and improved management practices for sealant shelf-life, which led to a recognition of the project with an Environmental Leadership Award from the customer's corporate leadership.
