Chalmers University of Technology Storage Infrastructure Case Study

This case study details the storage infrastructure overhaul at Chalmers University of Technology, which involved the implementation of a new storage solution provided by Infinidat. The university required a system capable of handling petabyte levels of data while ensuring improved security and simplified management. The new setup consists of a storage area network (SAN) with 15 VMware servers and additional file servers, designed to meet the needs of over 12,000 students and 3,100 employees. The migration from the previous system was facilitated by existing familiarity with fibre network channels.
