This case study outlines the City of Norfolk's efforts to enhance its IT infrastructure to support approximately 4,500 employees and various city departments. The city faced challenges with its legacy storage infrastructure, which required replacement due to increased capacity needs and expiring maintenance contracts. The IT team investigated Infinidat's InfiniBox® storage solution, which met their requirements for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. The acquisition of the InfiniBox F2240 with a Capacity on Demand model allowed for manageable data storage growth. The migration from the legacy system involved transferring 80TB of data from physical servers, which was successfully completed within a month. The partnership with Infinidat has provided Norfolk with a robust storage solution that enhances operational efficiency and supports strategic initiatives, allowing the IT team to focus on value-added services.
