Digital Integration in Cement Manufacturing

This technical report details the digital transformation of a leading Asian cement manufacturer through the implementation of the PlantOSTM digital platform. The report outlines the integration of 19 systems across 10 functional areas, including mines, crushers, kilns, and dispatch operations. It highlights the critical equipment involved, such as raw mills and captive power plants, and emphasizes the shift from traditional sensor installations to a comprehensive operational landscape. The report presents the outcomes of this integration, including a reduction of 46 hours in unplanned downtime, an increase in throughput by 10 tons per hour, and significant energy savings of 920,000 kcal in specific heat consumption. Additionally, it discusses the AI-assisted decision-making capabilities of the platform, which provide specific diagnostic reports and actionable recommendations. The results demonstrate a 10x return on investment achieved in less than six months, showcasing the effectiveness of the unified digital nervous system in enhancing operational efficiency.
