This case study details the collaboration between Coromandel International and Infinite Uptime to enhance equipment reliability at the Kakinada plant. The initiative began in 2021 with the installation of 32 sensors to monitor critical rotating assets, including pumps, compressors, and chillers. The deployment of PlantOS™ has expanded to over 450 sensors across three fertilizer plants by the end of 2023. The implementation of predictive intelligence has transformed Coromandel's maintenance approach from reactive to prescriptive, significantly reducing unplanned downtime by 3210 hours and achieving zero hours of Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). The proactive maintenance strategies have resulted in 940 breakdowns being avoided and an implementation rate of 93.47% for maintenance recommendations. The focus continues on integrating reliability, process, and energy optimization to further enhance operational efficiency and decision-making processes. This partnership illustrates the tangible benefits of real-time monitoring and data-driven maintenance culture in industrial settings.
