This case study details the collaboration between Infodesk and a leading pharmaceutical organization aimed at enhancing data access for Research and Development (R&D) employees. The objective is to ensure efficient retrieval of business-critical data to support effective analysis and decision-making. The organization faced challenges due to the overwhelming volume of new terminology that needed to be integrated into their ontologies, which made maintaining core ontologies increasingly unmanageable. To address this, the organization partnered with Infodesk to utilize six proprietary ontologies that are regularly updated to reflect changes in the competitive landscape. The implementation of these ontologies allows the R&D team to focus on specific areas of expertise while ensuring that relevant insights are efficiently accessible. The process involves identifying and aligning terms, conducting research for the latest terminology, and maintaining the ontologies to adapt to the evolving pharmaceutical landscape.
