Replacing a Homegrown System with InfoReady

This case study documents an interview with Sharon Parks and Jerry McMillan from the University of California, Irvine, discussing their transition from a homegrown application management system to InfoReady. The previous system, designed in 2003, became unsupported and difficult to manage due to personnel changes and a lack of technical support. The need for a new application management system arose as they faced challenges in organizing their annual symposium, which involved over 700 student projects and 1,000 participants. The tech team evaluated various products and ultimately chose InfoReady to facilitate their proposal submissions. The implementation process had initial challenges, but ultimately, InfoReady streamlined their operations significantly.
