This case study outlines how the University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center (UVACCC) scaled its internal funding programs using the InfoReady platform. In 2022, UVACCC faced the challenge of increasing its internal funding opportunities from 2-5 per year to over 25 annually due to new state funds. The existing manual processes were time-consuming and inefficient, relying heavily on spreadsheets and emails. To address these issues, Dr. Rebecca Latimer led the implementation of InfoReady, which included creating master templates, standardizing deadlines, and developing automated workflows. The results were significant, with a fivefold increase in Requests for Applications (RFAs) issued and over 200 applications received annually. The platform also improved administrative efficiency, applicant experiences, and decision-making processes. The case study concludes with best practices for other institutions to consider, emphasizing the importance of standardized funding cycles and effective communication channels.
