This study investigates the AI readiness of Australian organisations, focusing on the perspectives of 311 senior decision-makers from various industries. Conducted online from March 28 to April 2, 2024, the study reveals that 78% of respondents currently use AI, while 22% plan to adopt it within the next year. The findings indicate a strong belief in AI's potential value, with 85% agreeing that it can deliver significant benefits. Additionally, 90% of respondents acknowledge AI's role in improving efficiency and productivity. The study also highlights the areas where AI is most commonly applied, including research and development, IT, and marketing. Furthermore, it assesses the preparedness of organisations for AI implementation, revealing that only 32% feel fully prepared. The report concludes with insights on the existence of AI strategies within organisations, noting that 59% have a strategy in place, while 41% do not, with some in the process of developing one.
