This case study details the implementation of specialized software for sales planning and inventory optimization at Emmi, a leading Swiss dairy manufacturer. The software, developed by INFORM, facilitates a cross-location Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, integrating sales, inventory, supply chain, and financial data into a unified planning framework. Emmi utilizes the ADD*ONE optimization software to forecast and plan its extensive product range, which includes over 6,000 items, up to 18 months in advance. The case study outlines how the software enables Emmi to respond to fluctuating demand while considering regional market variations. It also explains the project's goal of enhancing medium- and long-term sales and turnover planning aligned with supply chain management. By employing forecasting algorithms, Emmi improves decision-making processes and optimizes resource allocation, resulting in significant cost savings and reduced replenishment times. The study highlights the strategic advantages gained through the integration of financial and demand planning within the supply chain.
