3D Concrete Printing Technology Case Study

This case study details the collaboration between Merlin Automation Solutions and Inovance in developing a motion control technology for a large-scale 3D concrete printing machine, named WEAVER, intended for L&T Construction. The document outlines the challenges faced, including the need for durability and reliability in harsh weather conditions, as well as the critical performance and accuracy requirements for safe construction. The project had a tight delivery timeframe, necessitating efficient customer service. The case study highlights the successful implementation of Inovance’s high-performance servo drives and motion controllers, which facilitated the rapid deployment of the printer. WEAVER is capable of constructing buildings up to three stories tall and is currently being utilized in significant construction projects, including a large accommodation complex in Chandigarh.
