This technical report details the deployment of an energy recovery system at the Jura-Cement factory in Wildegg, Switzerland. The project, a collaboration between EKZ GETEC and ABB, focuses on utilizing organic rankine cycle (ORC) technology to convert waste heat into electrical energy. This innovative solution is expected to significantly reduce energy costs, allowing Jura Cement to operate with approximately 20% less power. The financing for this project comes from EKZ GETEC and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, as part of the Energy Switzerland program, highlighting its strategic importance. The report outlines ABB's role in the project, which included the design, planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the turnkey power plant. The system is capable of generating 14,400 megawatt hours of electrical energy, sufficient to meet the needs of around 3,600 households in Switzerland. The project involved extensive on-site supervision and management of the installation process over a 16-month period.
