Affinity Systems Implements InRule for Cancer Care Ontario

This case study details the implementation of the InRule business rule management solution by Affinity Systems for Cancer Care Ontario (CCO). CCO, responsible for improving cancer services in Ontario, aimed to enhance its New Drug Funding Program (NDFP) by replacing an outdated Oracle Forms-based system. The new centralized web-based portal was designed to streamline operations, allowing for the quick addition of new drug policies without requiring software changes. The solution included a Business Rules Management System (BRMS) that empowers non-technical administrators to define, test, and deploy rules efficiently. By integrating InRule, CCO has improved its ability to manage complex rules and has made InRule part of its Centre of Excellence software suite. This case study illustrates how the implementation of InRule has enabled CCO to optimize its processes and enhance service delivery for cancer patients across Ontario.
