VGR Integrates InRule Process Automation and RPA

This case study details the integration of InRule process automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) by the Västra Götaland Region (VGR) to enhance invoice management. VGR, Sweden's largest organization with over 50,000 employees, recognized the need for digitalization to alleviate the administrative burden on healthcare staff. The implementation of InRule aimed to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency. The project involved registering external invoices in InRule, which were then processed by software robots, significantly reducing manual handling. The study outlines the rapid implementation timeline, highlighting the importance of prioritization and resource allocation in the project's success. Although concrete results are still emerging, initial observations indicate a shift towards more qualitative work, allowing staff to focus on value-creating tasks.
