Implementation of Web-Based Safety Incident Tracking System

This document is a case study detailing the implementation of a web-based safety incident tracking system by The Smurfit Kappa Group, a leader in the paper-based packaging industry. The objective was to standardize and streamline the recording, tracking, and reporting of safety incidents across multiple manufacturing sites in the UK, replacing a disjointed paper-based system. The new system allows employees to easily record incidents, hazards, and near-misses, while also generating real-time reports and dashboards for management. The case study outlines the project summary, including the transition to Intelex’s Safety Incident Reporting Application, which provided a centralized reporting system accessible by any employee. It describes the training process for Safety and Environmental Managers and highlights the improvements in data accuracy and user engagement. The document also notes the significant reduction in lost-time accidents and the overall positive impact on business performance and safety compliance.
