Patient Mobility Management at Shaare Zedek Medical Center

This case study details the implementation of the Symphia NowForce solution at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, aimed at enhancing patient mobility within the facility. The medical center, which has a long history and serves a diverse population, faced challenges in efficiently managing patient transport across its extensive departments and outpatient centers. The collaboration between the Security and Information Systems Departments led to the development of a smart mobility management system that integrates with existing management frameworks. The system employs an intelligent algorithm to assign patient mobility technicians based on proximity and urgency, significantly reducing wait times. Results indicate that the average time for a technician to reach a patient has decreased to 6 minutes and 50 seconds, while the time to transport patients to their destinations has dropped to 4 minutes and 15 seconds. The successful implementation of this system serves as a model for other healthcare institutions aiming to improve patient mobility and overall service quality.
